Urodynamic tests diagnose females who have urinary leaking or other lower urinary tract symptoms. Urodynamic tests measure:
- Storing and releasing urine (pee)
- Nerve and muscle function
- Bladder pressures
- Flow rates
A nurse practitioner will visit with you about your symptoms, conduct a physical exam, and then start the procedure with a simple urine test. Your bladder will be filled with fluid and then emptied while pressure readings are taken from your bladder and your abdomen. The idea is to replicate your symptoms, and then determine their cause. Based on the testing results and your preferences, a personalized treatment plan will be created.
